The Soundtrack to Paul Hannah's Redemption of a Dog Ships 6/27/08! Order here now!

Prepare yourself for one of the most compelling musical projects I have ever heard or been involved with.

These 12 songs are unique, powerful, romantic, sensual and demands your ear's attention. Every song was poured out the emotion of the characters in this play. Each song is deliberately engaging and brewing with passion and melody.

Vanessa came in and really made this song her on. She instantly took to the lyrics and gave the song this free, open alternative vibe. While the song "How do I live" deals more with an introspective and regretful look at the failure of a relationship. Especially You, deals with a distant look at that one love you weren't ready for when it came. Chrissy DePauw handles this ballad flawlessly and draws you into this distant look of what could have been. Toyona Holloway lays her signature sultry vocals on three other tracks, Gotta Get Back to you which is a unique song. While Especially you deals with a time frame that is much too long to overcome, Gotta Get Back to you is a recent departure. The song is about a talented woman who feels like she has to leave her lover in order to follow her dreams. Make no mistake, this was not an easy decision. Ultimately, she realizes she made a big mistake. With the same determination she left with, she packs up and heads home. She starts the second verse the same way as the first "so I packed my bags", man, powerful. When I hear those lyrics I think about how much courage it had to take to do that. All that she had to give up and the pride she had to swallow. How many of us would be willing to do that? Toyona also handles the duty of laying out Each Other. This song is a throwback in my mind. In the lyrics I use words like "aint" and "got". It feels like a love song from the 70s and I wrote it in that vein, although the music is definitely contemporary.

Kind of Love is one of my favorite songs on the album. I got so much fan mail from "I am Master" I thought it would be a shame not to put something on the project in that sensual pocket. While I am Master was more of my aggressive seductive vibe, this song is a sensual celebration for the woman. All of you married folks out there, you can turn the lights out with this one. I've got two other poetry tracks on the project and I love them both. I especially dig "Just a dream" This was the last song on the project, in fact we were already mixing by the time I got in the studio with this one. I just felt like I needed one more tune. I called in my dearest Jill Baskerville to sing, but she had just come off tour and had no voice. I couldn't use any of her vocals! I pulled in my production partner to fill the lines with a seductive sax part and it worked out perfectly. Poetry is so poweful when it comes from the soul and that is always my effort, speak from my soul and let God give the increase. Love is everything yall...
Mista Youngblood featured on "Count on Me"
Finally, a new comer to the camp, Mista Youngblood is amazing on Count on me. I frequently put out ads for singers and rarely do I hear one I think I can work with. I heard this brother's work on myspace and said, now that's old school cool. I loved it. We set up a session and a couple hours later we had gold. This is one of the most talented male vocalists I have worked with and he has a style and pocket that is sure to keep you in the mood. Rarely do you have the opportunity to work with an artist that is as equally talented as they are artistic and humble. Support this brother, there are not many artists out there like him. www.myspace.com/youngblood05
G'e Paul, my production partner produces four tracks on the album and performs genius sax work on several songs. If you are interested in sax work or a sax part live or studio contact G'e Paul at

I always said I would only write about love and never that "get out and don't come back radio play." What I realized through the course of the play is that breaking up is very much a part of love's story, even if its just the ability to heal and find true love. So the song leave deals with the inevitable huge mistake we have all made and the feeling that enough is enough. Have you ever really been completely done and not cared about the repercussions? Leave speaks to this. The song is passionately sung by Joel and Ms. Toyona Holloway. Seeing them in the studio trading lines you really believed they were done with one another!
